To Sustain and Grow Foothills Excellence

Foothills students are surrounded by excellence; 24 National Merit Finalists in the last two years, 45 sports championships in the high school’s 11-year history, $10 million in college scholarships offered to the Class of 2007, multiple honors in the fine arts, chess, and academic competition, and countless other distinctions for K-12 students and staff regularly expand the expressions of excellence at all Catalina Foothills schools.

A top priority for our school district is preparing students to meet the challenges and changes of the 21st Century. Core academic subjects such as reading, writing, science, math, languages, social studies and the fine arts remain the foundation of a comprehensive education. However, for students to achieve success, they will need to become proficient in new skills also -- digital literacy, effective use of technology, productivity, cultural competence, critical thinking, applying knowledge at high levels, and interactive communication – both globally and within a classroom. The combination of rigorous academic standards and 21st century skills are a bridge to authentic, challenging work done by successful students in a world that holds unprecedented opportunities for education, personal growth and global interaction.
