Success Corner

Do you have a CFSD success story?

Each month, CFSDF will present a success story, like this one about Aaron Bramley. Let’s share our district’s successes. Email your story idea to: info@cfsdfoundation.org

Aaron Bramley

Every jazz musician knows the principle of “call-and-response” – one musician plays a melody; others respond and embellish on that theme.

Aaron Bramley (CFHS ’02) learned about call-and-response playing in the Catalina Foothills jazz band.  Today he uses the principle to teach organizations how to use social media to convey their messages and build their communities.

Social media is about two-way conversation,” he says.  “Today, effective organizations can’t just tell people about their work; they need to engage them in a dialogue.”

After graduating from New York University with a BA in political science and linguistics, Aaron joined Ridgewood Associates Public Relations in Tucson.  As Director of Digital Media, he helps a wide variety of private nonprofit and public sector organizations to tell their stories.  His “Social Media Bootcamp” helps organizations understand and get involved with social media tools, such as Facebook and Twitter.  He also helps to develop branding and fundraising campaigns, produces videos, and creates multi-media online training courses.

Aaron’s passion for communication extends to his free time, too.  He is the co-founder of “Lights. Camera. Help,” a nonprofit organization based in Austin devoted to promoting the use of film and video to support cause-driven organizations.  LCH recently sponsored its first film festival, soliciting and judging 140 entries from around the world.  Proceeds from the film festival go to support the winning nonprofit organizations.

History of the Catalina Foothills Alumni Association
The CFSD Foundation recently established the Catalina Foothills Alumni Association to reach out to CFHS graduates, as well as those students who graduated from the school district’s K-8 program before the high school was built. We encourage all former students to register with the new alumni Website, catalinafoothills.alumniclass.com, so you can receive e-mail updates regarding class reunions, school activities and more.  In addition to establishing alumni relationships, the Alumni Association exists to continue Catalina Foothills’ history of community support for excellence in its schools.

Donate to the Catalina Foothills School District Foundation to continue your history of excellence. All alumni gifts support the Endowment for General Educational Excellence, a permanent source of funds to keep our schools exceptional.
